教員　-そのリアル-

I design my classes to help students build confidence and motivation while steadily acquiring EGAP (English for General Academic Purposes). My teaching draws on insights from Second Language Acquisition (SLA), with particular attention to how academic phrases support fluency in speaking. In class, I aim to help students develop the academic skills outlined in Tohoku University’s university-wide English curriculum, while also providing structured opportunities to notice, practice, and meaningfully use key academic expressions. I also try to keep a wide range of SLA-informed strategies in my “toolbox” so that I can choose the most appropriate approach based on students’ needs and real-time responses. I strive to be a flexible and responsive teacher: one who not only supports students in improving their English skills, but also helps them discover a learning style that works best for them. I find great meaning and joy in the time I spend with my students in the classroom.
