(1) From a global perspective, conduct surveys and research on methods of liberal arts and sciences education at universities and make recommendations which contribute to the development of undergraduate and postgraduate education at Tohoku University.
(2) Not only develop and provide education by area in liberal education, but also develop and implement comprehensive subjects for each area (natural science, humanities, social science, and sports) and interdisciplinary education subjects which respond to the issues of human society beyond these areas, by bringing undergraduate and postgraduate education into perspective.
(3) Provide interdisciplinary education in multiple languages including English and promote Tohoku University’s education from an international perspective.
(1) Conduct surveys and research while formulating curricula on cross-departmental interdisciplinary education issues and education programs which respond to the issues of human society.
(2) Promote development of interdisciplinary classes from undergraduate through to graduate schools.
(3) Establish the responsible implementing organizations that are required to carry out the education programs.
